TO MY DEAREST FRIENDS AND FAMILY WHO ARE NEAR AND FAR AWAY.
This project is my way of staying connected with you while I take care of myself. I need to step away from the big world for a moment, and instead I will explore the world of the small, because that is where I THRIVE and feel ALIVE.
I am a small world person
I like things slow and steady; why rush something great?
I am happier in the quiet corner of a busy room
I much prefer to look at a persons face to see how they are doing rather than speaking to them
I love walking; it is my favourite mode of transportation
I enjoy working with my hands because it feels real; the dirtier the work the better.
I believe in living for the minutes of my life, rather than planning for the decades
I love a small world. It is perfect for me; I enjoy the liberation I experience within it's boundaries.
I have fun! I create! I smile! The small is easily over looked and under valued; it is not glamourous, and doesn't carry the same celebrity as the big world stage might. It is tragic really, for all the suckers who don't look...
Consider this your invitation. Look closely and you will see that inside the small is a vast landscape of wonder and imagination. The sky is the limit? HA! Not at all, not even close.
This most recent year past, you probably didn't hear from me because I was having bi-weekly breakdowns, and meltdowns, and I was just always feel down-down.
Perhaps it was because I was trying to succeed in a world that I did not build myself for. So with this, I leave you to your world, while I get back in touch with mine.
The gist is this: I create two paintings on repurposed banners.
ONE YOU KEEP
ONE YOU GIVE AWAY
HELP ME INVADE THE WORLD WITH BEAUTIFUL BANNERS
True to the small world way, this project is about to get a lot smaller before it gets a lot bigger!
This past year we created the Small World Big Life Project-- it values creating and sharing.
I sent over 50 banners to 20 odd locations. Small banners, expanding on the ideas and work of mine from my past.
This year we will focus on creating, followed by a year of sharing.
Moving forward I would like to dabble with what will be in the future.. New banners that explore my present and will guide me to what will become BIG works of art.
My mission is to live a boldy creative life. The vision is to invade the world with beautiful things.
>Goal: One in every country on Earth
>>Goal: One in every family
>>>Goal: One in every pocket/ World domination
Sounds BIG--- we may trim it down as we like to grow slow and inconsistent.
Slow is similar to small; if you do not take the time to really try it out, it is hard to understand the joy in it.
